In a time when everyone is attached to their iPhone or iPad, taking advantage of the internet is a no-brainer. The readers are out there looking for fresh new material, so why not have your blog serve a two-fold effect and parlay your postings into new customers?
When running a business during this cyber age, an online presence can be a handy tool. And nothing is more advantageous, and perfect for connecting with customers than a company blog. It can drive organic traffic, in the form of readers, to your website, where you can then convert those readers into customers.
But one has to ask, just how often should your company be blogging? That answer to this questions would lie in the algorithms set forth by the current search engines. Studies have shown that the consistency at which you post new articles to your blog determines how well you’re indexed in searches. It is primarily about making sure to continually keep your blog both fresh and relevant.
Publishing More Is Better Than Less
It only stands to logic that if you publish more blogs, you will capture more readers and, in turn, more traffic. Several studies have shown that those businesses that choose to blog 3-5 times a month or say once a week receive twice as much traffic as their counterparts that blogged little to not at all.
Set A Schedule And Keep It
The main component of successful blogging is that of being consistent. By providing quality content on a set schedule, your readers will know when to look for new content to be published. It will also aid in you establishing brand loyalty and will have your readers looking forward to new blog posts. Another advantage that blogs that are regularly updated will receive a higher preference by search engines than those that only post sporadically.
Quality Over Quantity
Although the more blogs you publish, the better, don’t do so just for the sake of publishing. If you choose to publish content only to publish, it will have a negative effect on both your blog’s authority and your brand’s reputation. Make sure that the topic of your post is relevant to your brand while at the same time meeting the needs of your audience. It is essential to know that search engines will, no matter how often you post, if the content is not providing value to your readers, will not give it a high ranking.
Know Your Audience
When it comes to using the internet in your business, and even including a blog, timing is pretty much everything. You will need to research both the best day to post as well as the best time. You want to make sure that you have your posts available to your readers when they are actively engaging on the internet the most. If that is during the weekend, then post only on the weekend. If that is on Wednesdays, then post only on Wednesdays. Studies have shown that the optimal time to post a blog post is midday on either Monday or Thursday.
There is no proven approach set in stone as to when you need to post on your business blog. Many blogs have shown significant results posting once per week, while some bloggers step it up and post each day of the week. The best you can do is find what fits your business blog and deliver the most valuable content to your readers. If you need help writing your blogs, contact our team today! We’d love to help.
